Hope and Dispair

In times of disaster and chaos, there are two forces that are the strongest inside of people making them dangerous, hope and despair.

When people believe things can get better they will endure.

When they believe they have nothing left to lose they will lash out.

Hope is the armor and despair is the weapon, no one knows this better then spes the shepherd and obup the rallier, They were hope and despair themselves.

They have existed as long as there have been living in our world, they live and die like all things but they will always be there. When the time comes there power will come to them and they will help those who live be with armor or with weapon.

Owen the light gasped as air filled his lungs shooting up where he was dozing in the grass he had one thing in his mind,’ what the hell did I just dream?!” it felt long like an eternity. Rubbing his eye the knight got up grabbing his shield as he stood.

Breaking into a jog, Owen headed back to the castle he was currently stationed at, when he arrived at the gate he waved at the guards before heading to the war room.

Silently entering the room he took his seat seeing he was the last on here,” now that Owens here we can start” the head knight said,” the attacks are getting more severe and people are starting to freak out we need a way to keep them calm they can’t know the danger that's coming.” at this Owen frowned, hiding his disgust.

“I mean no disrespect but that is a horrible plan” the caption threw Owen a venomous look, but a noble who Owen didn’t recognize held up a hand as he told Owen to go on,” if we don’t tell the people now then when they learn their trust in us will have died, true if we tell them now they will be panic but we can deal with the panic and prepare them for what is to come.”

“How should we prepare them?”, the unnamed noble asked.

“Evacuation,” Owen answered after a moment unsure where the idea came from or the words that followed,” in the worst-case situation we will need to abandon the castle and the town, if people are prepared they can grab their necessities, they will know exactly which way to go, they will know how they should act so they don’t hinder or hurt another. And '' Owen cut off the captain “before you say that he shouldn’t even think of abandoning the castle that's all it is a castle.

“We can build another maybe even a better one but if we are not alive to inhabit there is no point in having it, as long as we are alive there is hope for another battle another day, that we can win, we can live.”

“An excellent speech” the unnamed noble clapped lading to Owen's face turning crimson, the blushing man opened his mouth to apologize but the noble waved him off.” now let's get to planning. I want to inform the people within the week.

“What is this feeling in my chest” Hagharg wondered as he walked in line with the other slaves, it felt familiar yet not at the same time. “I can wonder about it later, I can't miss this opportunity, this is my only chance to kill.” the half-orc gaze turned cold as he looked forward

“Soon m-” along with his fellow slaves were gathered before a stone stage,” greeting you pathetic piece of shit” the slave master continue to prance as he insulted his merchandise commanding them to react to every once and a while.

“And that's wh-” he stopped mid-sentence when he noticed one who hadn’t been doing as he commanded. Leaping off the stage he walked up to the duel breed.”I gave a command!” he spoke.

Hagharg spoke too quietly so the master leaned closer demanding he repeat that but he didn’t change his volume and the slave master got closer” SPEAK UP”.

“Die” was the last thing the slave master heard as Hagharg lunged forward using every bit of his power to tear out the man's throat with nothing more than his teeth. screams erupted from the other slaves but Hagharghad no time for them snagging the key the corpse waist he quickly undid his cuffs and chains before breaking out in a run.

“Capture him!” one of the guards screamed, but Hagharg kept his eyes on his goal. Even as his ears picked up more footsteps chasing after him he didn’t stop remembering if he got caught it would mean more chains and he would rather end his life then go back to chains.

Turning the last corner to his goal Hagharg pushed himself harder, not wasting a moment he kicked down the door into the room. It wasn’t long after that the guards gathered at the door. one guard stepped into the room” surrender and we won’t break both your hands.

Peeking out from behind the boxes that filled the room Hagharg smirked,” oh ancient being, lend me your might to cremate my foes” he then pulled a wooden staff with a glowing gem on top. The guards tried to run but it was futile, the moment the gem was pointed at them a torrent of blue flame consumed them.

“Now to leave this despair filled place.” making his way out of the slave camp Hagharg killed any guard he saw, freed any slave he saw except for the one who was high ranking criminals who met the same fate of the guards.

Entering the stables he headed for the horse he had taken care of during his time here, a beautiful grey but fierce creature named ash. Bruising it mane he placed a saddle on ash and climbed aboard. As he rode out of the stable he freed every horse allowing them to run out with ash leading the way. destroying the gate and Hagharg rode ash down the dirt road wondering where he should go,” I hope fate has good plans for me or at least the chance to live my life to the fullest”

It has started

the paths of hope

And

The path of despair

Where they will lead the world is unknown to even the gods will you come with me to witness where they will go?
